Sounds a bit wacky? You should have heard what we were going to be called! So why ‘Revelation Church’? Hopefully you’re clear on the ‘church’ bit, so let’s focus on the ‘R’ word.
Well, we’re not about focussing on the beast, barcodes and 666, so if you are, we’re probably not the church for you! The word ‘revelation’ in the Bible is used in a far broader way than how people have come to think of it. ‘Revelation’ comes from the word ‘reveal’ and it describes the way that God works in the lives of those He is saving.
The bottom line is that we don’t see Jesus Christ until He is revealed to us, until the eyes of our hearts are opened by the Father. For some people this is very dramatic, a bit like when someone pulls open the curtains in the morning and the sun bursts in, for others it’s more gradual, like a window blind being gradually rolled up – either way, the light comes in and changes everything! We seriously hope that God will use this church to bring that kind of revelation in to peoples’ lives – good eh?
