Serving
If you’d like to serve, please talk to Dave Smith or ask at the Like To Know More table.
When we serve, it’s our worship. In fact, the bible says ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord’ (Col 3:23). So let’s turn up on time, with a glad heart and do it to the best of our abilities.
If you’re not sure what to do and when, here’s all the info you need.
Each service has a Service Contact – either Dave Smith, Laura Scott or Luke Ellis – who oversees everything. So if you have any questions, just ask!

We meet at 2:45 to pray
- One person stays at the front door welcoming people and a second just inside the front door with the register
- When the service begins, one person stays on the front door until 3:45 to welcome latecomers
- Look after guests.
- At 3:25 the leader of the team will make an announcement that the service will start in 5 minutes time. Then another announcement at 15:29 to say the service is about to start.
- After everyone has gone in the white door needs to be shut. Late arrivals can use the back door.
- The white door is opened again for kids and crèche to go out then shut again when the preach starts, to minimise distraction.
Before the service
- Your team leader will give you specific instructions.
- Set out cups, juice, water and biscuits on 1 table.
- It is good to have one person serving cold drinks from the table.
- As people go in for the service, it’s a good time to prep for the end of the service. Fill up cafetieres and tea pots, put out more cups and extra juice cartons.
- During the last few songs, all of the team should come out to put together plates of biscuits, cake, put out herbal teas and hot chocolate etc and make the tea and coffee.
