Refugees & Asylum Seekers

God’s heart is to love the poor, estranged and alien. God first loved us when we were estranged from Him and now He calls us to love ‘the alien’. We’re here to reach out to asylum seekers, refugees and all those on the fringes of our society.
We meet three times a month. First, in the home, where our focus is on hanging out, reading the bible and praying. Second, for Sunday lunch, where we invite friends to join us then go to the Rev service together. And third, helping to run a drop-in for destitute asylum seekers at a church hall.
We cook a hot meal for around 20 or so guests, then they stay the night. We've only just begun serving here but we're excited about making good friends with guests and sharing the love of Christ in this way.
God's done an amazing work among us as a group, turning us from a bunch of individuals into a community who love to be together. Now, slowly, we're making friends with those we're called to reach out to.
